The broadcasting company has decided to pull Jimmy Kimmel Live for the time being following the presenter made remarks concerning the killing of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk.

"Jimmy Kimmel Live will be temporarily replaced for now," a representative of the channel stated.

During Monday night’s opening segment, Kimmel suggested that certain political groups were attempting to capitalize off of Kirk’s tragic passing.

Shortly after, a alleged shooter appeared in legal proceedings facing homicide over the shooting.

"Some political figures are working hard to portray this perpetrator as not one of their own," commented on his segment.

The comedian, who has often faced backlash from political opponents, also questioned flags flown at half-staff remembering Kirk and commented on the way leaders responded to the tragedy.

He played a clip featuring a well-known individual redirecting to different topics while addressing the event.

"This is not how a responsible individual mourns a tragedy," Kimmel said. "It’s more like how a young kid reacts after a sad event."

Official Reaction

Additionally, a high-ranking regulator from the FCC labeled Kimmel’s monologue as "among the worst conduct possible."

"License holders operate under a license that requires them to behave in the common good," the official stated.

He proposed that an apology from Kimmel would be a "reasonable initial response."

Broadcast Actions

Following ABC’s move, a major broadcasting companies in the United States, Nexstar, also stated it would stop broadcasting Jimmy Kimmel Live "until further notice."

Officials commented that the host’s monologue were "offensive and unhelpful" during a tense period in public discourse.

"We believe that airing this content is simply not in the public interest," a representative of the broadcaster announced.

The suspension was made in an effort to let "more reasoned discussions to return" amid efforts aims for resuming constructive dialogue.
